The council's website,, is due for a refresh. And we have begun work on a platform and digital service that will better serve our residents.

First and foremost, the website must be inclusive to all our residents and businesses, providing equal access to all council services. By doing this, it will meet the new accessibility directive which became law in September 2020.

Understanding what our residents need

We want our new site to focus on you, our residents, allowing you to easily get tasks done online.

To understand resident needs, we have been gathering feedback via online surveys, talking to call centre colleagues, and analysing your experiences using our website.

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to give feedback, we have a better idea where we can improve and how to approach the challenge.

Three core aims of the project

  1. Create a new modern website that gives residents a seamless experience so that they choose to use the digital channel whenever possible
  2. Deliver a compliant and innovative website which will improve as technology advances
  3. Build a new digital service that is future-proofed and flexible to improve as technology advances

Your chance to help your localĀ area and shape the project

As part of Digital Month 2020, we are talking to residents to better understand their needs from our website and MyAccount through a series of virtual workshops.

We'd love to see you at one of the workshops.

Beyond November, we will regularly be in contact with our residents to feedback on the new website as it progresses.
